Referendum violently interrupted by riot police

A Spanish State Police officer uses a malllet to break in the IES Pau Claris polling station as voters show carnations in sign of peace. Spanish State Police and Guardia Civil intervened in the morning at the IES Pau Claris polling station to interrupt the vote on Catalonia's independence. Some people were injured during the police's intervention even if people who came to vote stayed peaceful. Urns were seized by Guardia Civil. On 1st October 2017 in Barcelona, Spain.
