Demonstrators from the SOLIDAIRE union walk behind a banner with the slogan "Face à Macron let's build the counter-offensive" during a demonstration in Paris on October 18, 2022, after the CGT and FO unions called for a national strike for a increase in wages, and against the requisition by the government to force certain strikers in the refineries to return to work. In support, unions from other industries and the public sector have called for a strike and denounced soaring energy prices and global inflation on the cost of living.
