Thousands of Sri Lankan soldiers have been deployed by Sri Lankan government since March when curfew was imposed across the country to assist with efforts to minimize the spread of Covid-19 virus in Sri Lanka. The Sri Lankan Government led by president Gotabaya Rajapaksa re-started most of the state and private sector services on Monday (11) in Colombo amid the curfew . According to the Covid-19 situation report (11 May 2020) issued by Sri Lanka's Epidemiology Unit of Ministry of Health, Sri Lankan Military soldiers (majority Navy Soldiers) account for 440 Covid-19 positive cases out of the total reported cases of 863 so far but the Director General of Health Services , Dr.Anil Jasinghe stated that the Navy soldiers cluster is under controlled.
