Procession Of The Statue Of St. Nicholas

Bearers prepare to carry out the disembarkation of the statue of St. Nicholas from the San Nicola Pier in Bari on May 8, 2023. After spending the day aboard a fishing boat at sea, the statue of St. Nicholas returned to its namesake pier where under a light rain a mass was celebrated by the parish priest of Bari Cathedral, Monsignor Franco Lanzolla, before disembarking. From there, the procession then departed, accompanying the saint to Piazza del Ferrarese where, upon arrival, illuminations were lit for the celebration in honor of the patron saint.
