Indonesia: Threat Of Abrasion On The Northern Coastline Of West Java
A resident strolling around the damaged area by seawater abrasion at Pantai Bahagia Village, Muara Gembong District, Bekasi Regency, West Java Province, Indonesia, May 15, 2023. Local folks who live on that area have to live side by side with high tide levels, which frequently saturate their settlement. This phenomenon occurs because of land subsidence. The results of numerous studies say that land subsidence in north Bekasi can reach 20 cm per year, with an average of 10 cm per year.
