Church parishioners in Morristown, New Jersey, United States on May 24, 2023 say they were targeted because of Pride Flags. A church sign in Morristown , New Jersey was slashed hours after Pride Flags were put on display, according to church members. The sign that reads ''All Are Welcome'' at the Church of the Redeemer which is an Episcopal Church, was found damaged over the weekend. Pride Month is celebrated in June. The church says this year they put the flags up ten days early to honor a 69-year-old lesbian member who died from COVID-19. The church held a celebration of life on Saturday, May 19, 2023 and in a Facebook invite, all were encouraged to wear festive clothing. There is a donation link to help replace the sign and according to the church, the damage costs over $15,000.
