Day of Heroes in Lviv

LVIV, UKRAINE - MAY 28, 2023 - The orchestra of the Hetman Petro Sahaidachny National Army Academy holds a concert at the monument to Ukrainian poet and artist Taras Shevchenko during the celebration of the Day of the Heroes, Lviv, western Ukraine. The Day of the Heroes is an annual holiday that honours Ukrainian servicemen and women who fought for an independent and unified Ukrainian state, primarily the knights of the Kyivan Rus, the Cossacks of the Hetman Era, the Haidamaks, the Opryshks, the Sich Riflemen, the soldiers of the Army of the Ukrainian People's Republic, Ukrainian Galician Army, Organisation of Ukrainian Nationalists, Ukrainian Insurgent Army, as well as the Heroes of the Heavenly Hundred and defenders of the ongoing Russia-Ukraine war of liberation. It is celebrated annually on May 23, but festive and commemorative events occur throughout the week.NO USE RUSSIA. NO USE BELARUS.
