Chinese Yuan Deposits Rose in 2023 May

On June 13, 2023, the People's Bank of China released the news that at the end of May, the balance of local and foreign currency deposits was 280.94 trillion yuan, an increase of 11.1% year-on-year. The balance of RMB deposits was 274.91 trillion yuan, an increase of 11.6%, 0.8 percentage points lower than the end of last month, and 1.1 percentage points higher than the same period of last year.
