Lowering Of The Water Level Of Dniper River In Zaporizhia After The Collapse Of The Downstream Nova Kakhovka Dam

A small sandbag dam built in a village on the right bank of the Dniper River in Zaporizhia. After the lowering of the water level due to the collapse of the Nova Kakhovka dam downstream, some villages built small dams so as not to lose all the water in the receding river. The water level decreased by more than three meters along the river bank compared to the usual level before the destruction of the dam. (Photo by Celestino Arce/NurPhoto)
