Artocarpus Heterophyllus In India
The jackfruit (Artocarpus heterophyllus) trees belong to the Moraceae family and grow in abundance in countries like India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, and other countries in Southeast Asia. A jackfruit has a subtle sweet and fruity flavor, can weigh 3.5 kgs to 10 kgs on average, and grow as big as 25 kgs. It may help as an antimicrobial agent, antifungal properties, anti-inflammatory properties, lower blood glucose, anticancer properties, blood pressure, anti-ulcer, anti-ageing properties, anti-asthmatic activity, antidiarrheal, digestion, kill worms. The seeds are rich in dietary fiber and B-complex vitamins and due to their high fiber content, they help lower the risk of heart disease, prevent constipation and promote weight loss.
