China Leads The World in Shipbuilding

YANTAI, CHINA - JULY 28, 2023 - A decommissioned warship is undergoing transformation at Penglai Zhongbai Jinglu Shipbuilding Co LTD in Yantai, Shandong province, China, July 28, 2023. From January to June 2023, the three major indicators of China's shipbuilding completions, new orders and hand-held orders were 21.13 million deadweight tons, 37.67 million deadweight tons and 123.77 million deadweight tons, accounting for 49.6%, 72.6% and 53.2% of the world's total, respectively, and 47.3%, 67.2% and 46.8% of the revised total tons.
