Catalonia Fire Improves
The Fire Department of the Generalitat declared the fire in the municipalities of Colera and Portbou, in the region of Alt Emporda (Girona, Catalonia), august 06, 2023, next to the border with France, on the border with France, to have been stabilized during the night of Saturday, after burning 573 hectares. Sunday morning there were some reprisals, but the perimeter remains stable. Even so, the firefighters do not consider the fire to be under control and the strong northerly wind is a concern. For this reason, they will maintain a device with around thirty provisions for the night, in order to secure the area and declare the fire under control in the coming days.
