Smog shrouds Jakarta on 9 August 2023, which was ranked as the most polluted city in the world on several months in 2023. According to IQAir, the air quality in Jakarta this morning at 05:00 a.m. is at an unhealthy level. The Air Quality Index (AQI) of Jakarta reached 160 with the main pollutant concentration PM2.5 at 72 micrograms per meter cubic. The number made Jakarta have the world's worst air quality followed by Johannesburg, South Africa (152), Beijing, China (152), Santiago, Chile (131), and Lahore, Pakistan (112).
