Wildfire On Spain's Tenerife Burning 'Out Of Control'

Wildfires in Municipuios de Candelaria y Arafo, in Tenerife, on August 16, 2023 -A wildfire that broke out on Wednesday in Tenerife rapidly covered 1,800 hectares within 24 hours, leading to the evacuation of several villages. The fire stretched over 22 kilometres (14 miles) through arid woodlands on both sides of steep gorges near the Mount Teide volcano, Spain's tallest peak, making access to the affected areas challenging.
