Members of the Secretariat of National Defence (SEDENA), work in ''Section C'' of the El Vergel Clothing and Equipment Factory, Iztapalapa, Mexico City, on august 25, 2023, where they make various Mexican flags to mark the 213th Anniversary of the Beginning of the Independence of Mexico, the Cry of Independence and the Military Parade to be held on 15 and 16 September in the country. Sewing machines, irons, needles, metres of fabric, needles, textile paints and threads are used daily in these facilities to make the flags, the process of which is carried out by hand and under strict quality controls. A total of 16 paints are used to give colour to the patriotic flags, which are then distributed to various governmental bodies and states in Mexico. According to data from the Ministry of National Defence, more than 1,500 flags are made annually and used in different indoor and outdoor spaces. In addition, there are monumental flags, of which at least five are the largest in the country and are located in Campo Marte, Mexico City's Zocalo, Glorieta de San Jeronimo, Piedras Negras Coahuila and the State of Guerrero.
