Blue Moon Rises In Castel Del Monte, Italy

A 97% crescent moon (full moon) rises behind Castel del Monte Castle in Andria, Puglia, Italy, on august 29, 2023. The full moon, also visible on august 30 and 31, will be the 2023 “Blue Moon” because it’s the second full moon in a month (august). As the first august full moon, the moon is at its perigee, that point in its orbit where it is closest to the Earth and this phenomenon is called supermoon.
