On September 7, 2023, data released by the General Administration of Customs showed that in the first eight months of 2023, the total value of China's import and export was 27.08 trillion yuan, down slightly by 0.1% year-on-year. Of this total, exports reached 15.47 trillion yuan, up by 0.8%; Imports were 11.61 trillion yuan, down 1.3 percent. Trade surplus increased by 7.3% to 3.86 trillion yuan.
