Italy is one of the five European countries with the highest number of femicide victims. More than 76 women have been killed in Italy since the start of 2023 by either their partners or ex-partners. There is a growing sense of resentment not only due to the continuous instances of violence against women that are being reported in the news but also because of a series of controversial acquittal verdicts.
