Security personnel are standing guard as CBI investigators are conducting a raid on the residence of Kolkata Mayor Firhad Hakim in connection with the alleged Municipality recruitment scam, in Kolkata, on Sunday, October 8, 2023. A rude surprise awaited two Trinamul Congress heavy-weight leaders, Firhad Hakim and Madan Mitra, on Sunday morning when officers from the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) simultaneously raided the residences of the duo in connection with the municipal bodies recruitment scam. Search and seizure operations, along with examinations of both leaders, are currently taking place at Hakim's property in Chetla and Mitra's property in Bhowanipore, under the tight security cover of CRPF personnel at both premises. Both Hakim and Mitra are reportedly present at their respective residences as agency officers arrived at their doorsteps and they offered no resistance to their entry.
