Hundreds of Guatemalan migrants carrying banners, flags, protested on Sunday October 15, 2023 in front of the Guatemalan Consulate in Park Avenue Manhattan New York, to demand that the country's democracy be respected after the presidential elections where presidential candidate Bernado Arevalo was elected by Guatemalans. The migrants support the protests in Guatemala, where thousands of indigenous people are leading protests and road closures to demand the resignation of Attorney General Consuelo Porras, as well as her prosecutors Rafael Curruchiche and Cinthia Monterroso, whom they accuse that together with Judge Fredy Orellana have initiated a judicialization of the electoral process that puts the country's democracy at risk.
