Funeral ceremony of Ukrainian defender Serhii Ikonnikov in Kyiv, Ukraine
KYIV, UKRAINE - OCTOBER 19, 2023 - Former Ukrainian President and European Solidarity leader Petro Poroshenko attends the funeral service of the late Serhii Ikonnikov, the youngest unit commander of the 72nd Black Zaporozhians Mechanized Brigade who went by his call sign 'Monakh' (Monk), at St Michael's Golden-Domed Cathedral, Kyiv, capital of Ukraine. The serviceman, who had been an assistant to a Kyiv City Council member and European Solidarity Party activist, died on his 25th birthday on Friday, October 13, during an assault of Russian troops in the Vuhledar direction.
