Post referendum press conference in Donetsk
At 3 pm today, the leaders of the new Donetsk republic held a press conference to comment on the result of the referendum held on the 11 of May 2014. Here is some quotes from the press conference. The official result is 89,7% - pro 10,19% - con Priorities they are going to concentrate on - economics and army Army is of great importance because it is an actual civil war now having sovereignty they can decide their future on their own - whether to stay independent, whether join any other country According to negotiations with Kiev - because of the war measures taken by Kiev to handle conflict, Kiev crossed possibilities to further dialog except on the exchange of hostages Also they underlines that officially they declared Statement of Independence on April, 7th, after the seizing administration and this referendum on May 11 was just a means to confirm the will of people to recognize this statement of Independence.
