Beaver Moon - November’s Full Moon
The Beaver Moon is shining brightly in the night sky, starting on Sunday, offering a dazzling sight. It is thought to be called the Beaver Moon because of the animal's retreating behavior ahead of winter, though others believe it comes from Native American traditions. Historically, this was the time for setting beaver traps before the swamps froze, to ensure a supply of warm winter furs. The Beaver Moon is reaching the crest of its full phase, peeking through the cloudy sky as seen through the gaps in the branches of a tree in Tehatta, West Bengal, India, on November 27, 2023.
