Sakimana Punhi-Festival Celebrated In Nepal
Devotees are making figures of religious symbols with a variety of fried grains during the Sakimana Punhi celebration in Bhaktapur, Nepal, on November 27, 2023. Each year on the full moon day of Sakimana Punhi, farmers offer their harvest to Mother Earth with respect and gratitude. The Newar community observes the day by creating figures of deities with fried grains and singing religious hymns. Sakimana Punhi is one of the rarest festivals that is still celebrated in Nepal.
