Pre-premiere viewing of Shadows of Forgotten Ancestors ballet in Lviv
A dancer is performing during the pre-premiere viewing of the Shadows of Forgotten Ancestors ballet at the Solomiya Krushelnytska Lviv National Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre in Lviv, Ukraine, on December 1, 2023. The ballet, based on the 1911 novel by Ukrainian writer Mykhailo Kotsiubynskyi, which was inspired by his stay in the Hutsul region, tells the tragic love story of Ivan and Marichka, two Hutsuls from rival families.
