Dutch Colonial Artifacts Return To Colombo, Sri Lanka
Sri Lankans are viewing ''Lewke's Cannon'' on their mobile phones during a public exhibition at the National Museum in Colombo, Sri Lanka, where it was returned by the Netherlands, in Colombo, Sri Lanka, on December 6, 2023. The Dutch government returned six cultural artifacts to Sri Lanka last Monday, which were plundered from the ancient Kandyan kingdom in 1765 by Dutch colonialists and belonged to the Kandy royal family.
