Christmas In San Gimignano

The small medieval town, located in the province of Siena, Tuscany, in north-central Italy, is known as the City of the Beautiful Towers. San Gimignano is famous for its medieval architecture, unique for the preservation of a dozen tower-houses, which, with its hilltop location and surrounding walls, are forming 'an unforgettable skyline'. The 'Centro Storico di San Gimignano' is being recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The town is also known for producing saffron, Prosciutto d'Oro, pecorino cheese, and its white wine, Vernaccia di San Gimignano, which is made from the ancient variety of Vernaccia grapes grown on the sandstone hills of the area.
