Fatehpur Sikri
A niche that once contained a Hindu deity is seen in the Hindu-style temple within the Jodha Bai Mahal palace, where the queen used to worship, in Fatehpur Sikri, Uttar Pradesh, India, on May 6, 2022. Fatehpur Sikri, established by Mughal Emperor Akbar in 1569, was the capital of the Mughal Empire from 1571 to 1585. The Jodha Bai Mahal, also known as Jodh Bai Mahal, is the largest palace in Fatehpur Sikri. Emperor Akbar commissioned it in 1569 for his favorite queen consort, Mariam-uz-Zamani, commonly referred to as Jodha Bai.
