Iran-Dried Lake Of Urmia
A vineyard is seen close to the dried lands of Lake Urmia in West Azerbaijan Province, approximately 604 kilometers (375 miles) northwest of Tehran, Iran, on January 14, 2014. Once the largest lake in the Middle East and the sixth-largest saltwater lake on Earth, Lake Urmia is a majestic expanse of salt and water, nestled between the East and West Azerbaijan provinces in northwestern Iran. This endorheic salt lake holds a unique place in the region's natural heritage. (Photo by Morteza Nikoubazl/NurPhoto)
