Cardinal Alvaro Ramazzini, from the diocese of Huehuetenango, is expressing his concerns about the political situation in Guatemala after leaving the country in early December upon hearing that the Guatemalan government had sent a ''strong letter'' against him to the Vatican. Rumors are circulating about an arrest warrant against him since he voiced concerns over a potential coup to prevent Guatemala's elected president, Bernardo Arevalo, from assuming power on January 14, 2024.
