Climate Change In Kashmir Valley
A fisherman is walking back from the River Jhelum in Sopore District, Baramulla, Jammu and Kashmir, India, on January 1, 2024. The persisting dry weather across the valley is bringing down the water level in the Jhelum to a 70-year low in the month of September, say officials. Officials are noting that the valley has been witnessing dry weather for more than a month, which is complicating the problems of water scarcity and irrigation for the farmers.
