Toque Macaques In Sri Lanka
A toque macaque is drinking a cup of water offered by people to Buddha in Polonnaruwa, Sri Lanka, on January 13, 2024. The toque macaque (Macaca sinica) is a reddish-brown-colored Old World monkey endemic to Sri Lanka, where it is known as the rilewa or rilawa. Its name refers to the whorl of hair at the crown of the head, reminiscent of a brimless toque cap. (Photo by Thilina Kaluthotage/NurPhoto)
