Animal India - Alcedo Atthis - Common Kingfisher
The Common Kingfisher (Alcedo Atthis), Also Known As The Eurasian Kingfisher And River Kingfisher, Is A Small Very Colorful Kingfisher That Has A Wingspan Of 25cm (9.8in). They Nest In Burrows Close To Lake Edges Or Riverbanks And Defend Their Feeding Territories From Other Kingfishers. It Feeds Mainly On Fish, Caught By Diving, And Has Special Visual Adaptations To Enable It To See Prey Underwater. The Glossy White Eggs Are Laid In A Nest At The End Of A Burrow In A Riverbank.
