Bonfire Of St. Anthony In Giovinazzo
People are lighting one of the largest bonfires in honor of St. Anthony in front of the Church of St. Dominic in Giovinazzo, Italy, on January 21. Following tradition, bonfires are being lit throughout the city to pay homage to the thaumaturge Saint, whose life story is associated with the element of fire. Large earthenware vessels are being used to cook fava beans, which will be combined with olives, and this is all being enjoyed with delicious red wine. (Photo by Davide Pischettola/NurPhoto)
