Sunset Over Apennines Mountains, Italy
Corno Grande and Pizzo Cefalone peaks (Gran Sasso and Monti della Laga National Park) are seen at sunset from Tornimparte (L'Aquila), Italy, on January 25th, 2024. During the winter of 2024, temperatures have been higher than the average so far. Snowfall has been scarce, causing the mountains to appear lightly snow-covered. Corno Grande is the highest peak of Apennines mountains (2912 mt) and has Calderone glacier, the only one of the Apennines and the southernmost of Europe. (Photo by Lorenzo Di Cola/NurPhoto)
