Protest Against Changes In TVP In Krakow
Protesters are gathering in Krakow, Poland, on February 3, 2024, to voice their opposition to the changes in public media and to show support for Mariusz Kaminski and Maciej Wasik. The new coalition government's reforms in the public media have sparked demonstrations by PiS supporters. The occupation of the public television's headquarters by PiS party politicians and the liquidation of TVP are a response to personnel changes and the president's veto on a budget-related bill. The protesters are also standing in solidarity with Mariusz Kaminski and Maciej Wasik, who have been detained by the police, during the organized protest at Matejki Square.
