Marechal Duque de Caxias Sets Sail From Yantai

The ''Marechal Duque de Caxias,'' a very large floating production, storage, and unloading vessel, is setting sail with the assistance of tugs from the Yantai construction base in Yantai, Shandong province, China, on February 24, 2024. The ship is heading to the Mero offshore oil field in Brazil to carry out operations. It can handle 180,000 barrels of crude oil per day, 12 million cubic meters of natural gas per day, and has an oil storage capacity of up to 1.45 million barrels. The vessel serves as an ''offshore oil processing plant,'' combining production processing, storage and unloading, personnel living quarters, and production command. (Photo by Costfoto/NurPhoto)
