Bolsonaro Demonstration
In Sao Paulo, Brazil, on January 25, 2024, Mabel Buck, a 62-year-old high-end real estate broker from Limeira, is expressing her discontent with what she describes as the erosion of freedom by the current federal government at a demonstration called by Jair Bolsonaro. ''We are being confined while criminals roam the streets,'' she complains. She suggests that Brazil should follow the example of the president of El Salvador, referring to the mass arrests implemented by Nayib Bukele, who calls himself the ''nicest dictator in the world.'' Despite bypassing democracy, he managed to reduce the homicide rate by 3500%. Although she does not openly declare her spiritualist beliefs due to her pastor clients, she accuses the current president, Lula, of being against Brazilians who support Bolsonaro, saying, ''He is angry, filled with hatred towards Brazilians.''
