Human Right Activist Protest In Jakarta
Hundreds of human rights activists are participating in the annual Aksi Kamisan (Thursday Action) in front of the State Palace in Jakarta, Indonesia, on February 29, 2024. In this 807th action, they are condemning the awarding of honorary stars by President Joko Widodo to the Minister of Defense and presidential candidate, Prabowo Subianto, on February 28, who is considered a suspect in the kidnapping of activists during the reform event in 1998. The activists are demanding that Joko Widodo revoke the honorary star. The Kamisan Action is carried out every Thursday in front of the State Palace by victims of human rights violations in Indonesia, having started on January 18, 2007, to demand that the state resolve human rights violations in the country.
