Kenduren Festival In Indonesia

People are arranging piles of durians at the ''Kenduren Wonosalam'' festival in Jombang, Indonesia, on March 3, 2024. The thorny fruits are being driven around the village before being thrown to the waiting crowds. Participants, consisting of groups of people, are climbing a structure made from durian fruit. They are collecting as many fruits as possible and throwing them to friends in the crowd below, who are attempting to catch these hard, heavy, and spiky fruits. Those who catch a durian are entitled to eat it on the spot or take it home. The festival itself is a form of gratitude during the harvest season. (Photo by Suryanto Putramudji/NurPhoto)
