Jakarta Remains Capital City

The National Monument, also known as Monas, stands in Jakarta, Indonesia, on March 7, 2024. Dini Purwono, President Joko Widodo's Special Staff on Legal Affairs, is stating that Jakarta remains the capital city until a Presidential Decree on the capital city transfer is issued. She references Article 39 of the IKN Law to support her statement. Dini also mentions Article 41 of the 2022 IKN Law, which stipulates that Jakarta's status as the capital city will be revoked and declared invalid once the IKN Presidential Decree is issued.
