A69: Mp Anne Stambach Terrenoir Blocked By Police To Supplu 'Ecureuils' With Food And Medecines

MP Anne Stambach-Terrenoir stands near policemen with the food and medecines supplies for 'Ecureuils'. Legally, policemen must let her supply 'Ecureuils' but they refuse. After the legally binding rapport of Michel Forst, United Nations Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights defenders, demanding the resupplies of 'Ecureuils' standing in the trees of the 'Crem'Arbre' ZAD (ie 'Zone To Defend'), activists from LVEL (La voie Est Libre ie The Way Is Free') and MP Anne Stambach-Terrenoir tried without success even with a doctor'prescription and and medecine for an 'Ecureuils'. 'Ecureuils' and their trees are besieged by police for more than a month. Policemen refue also to bring the medecines to 'Ecureuils' or to let journalists do their job. In Saix (Tarn) on the planned A69 highway between Toulouse and Castres, opponents installed a ZAD dubbed 'Crem'Arbre' (ie ZAD: Zone To Defend) and 'Ecureuils' ('squirrels') live in the trees to block their cutting. Gendarmes Mobiles (riot police) stand guard near the trees occupied by 'Ecureuils' to deny the supply of food and water by sympathizers. The Gendarmes Mobiles's siege around trees occupied by 'Ecureuils'. The main collective 'La Voie est Libre' (ie 'The Way is Free') wants the highway to be stopped until all the justice decisions on the content to be given. All expropiations for farmers aren't cleared. Opponents at this project say that the reprofiling of the N126 will be suffisant for the 6,000 vehicles planned per day and would cost far less money. The A69 highway will cost EUR512 millions (in 2018 euros without the inflation) for 53 kilometers. More than 100 protected species and 400ha of agricultural fields will be destroyed. Saix. Tarn.
