World Water Day In Mexico
Trajineras are currently participating in the allegorical float trip as part of the festivities of La Flor Mas Bella del Ejido in Xochimilco, Mexico City, which is coinciding with World Water Day. The goal of La Flor Mas Bella del Ejido is to showcase the diversity of the native women of Xochimilco and to preserve and emphasize the origins of the people who continue to uphold their customs and traditions. Meanwhile, the United Nations and its member states are using World Water Day to implement UN recommendations and to promote national initiatives that aim to increase awareness about the importance of responsible and efficient water resource use.
