World's Largest Solar Plant
The Worlds largest solar plant is under construction near Blythe in Riverside County, California.The 550-megawatt Desert Sunlight solar project, which generates enough electricity to power 160,000 average California homes. Desert Sunlight received a federal loan guarantee of nearly $1.5 billion, and Jewell called the project's completion an example of the loan guarantee program's tremendous importance.. The McCoy Solar Energy Project is a proposed 750 MW solar power station using photovoltaics planned for Riverside County, California, in the Mojave Desert, near Blythe, California.Construction began on an initial 250MW section in 2015 with completion of the section due in 2016. All the cells used are delivered from Germany.March 15, 2016
