Muslims Celebrate Eid Al -Fitr In Indonesia

In Solo, Central Java, Indonesia, on April 11, 2024, Javanese people are jostling the 'Gunungan', a sacrifice in the shape of a mountain, during the Grebeg Syawalan ritual as part of the Eid Al-Fitr celebration. Grebeg Syawal is an annual tradition that follows the end of the holy month of Ramadan. The ''Gunungan'' are piles of food that resemble mountains, made of vegetables, peppers, eggs, and rice cookies. After a prayer procession in the Grand Mosque, the local people are jostling for the ''Gunungan''. Receiving a part of the Gunungan is believed to bring good luck and blessings for the year ahead.
