Traditional Mud Surfing Competition In Indonesia

Participants are competing in the Skilot competition in the aqueous mud arena in Pasuruan, East Java, Indonesia, on April 17, 2024. Skilot, a traditional mud surfing competition from Lekok Village, Pasuruan, involves clam seekers and fishermen who participate as a form of thanksgiving for the sea harvest. Both children and adults are taking part in the competition by riding wooden surfboards in the watery mud arena. (Photo by Suryanto Putramudji/NurPhoto)
