Golu Devta Temple

Legal documents are being affixed to the Golu Devta Temple, also known as the Bell Temple, in Ghorakhal, Uttarakhand, India, on April 20, 2024. Devotees are praying to Golu Devta, a deity revered by the Kumaoni and Garhwali communities, asking for justice in long-running court cases or for the removal of obstacles in their lives. They are hanging bells, with or without their written pleas, to the poles of the temple, and plan to return with larger bells if their pleas are granted. Brass alloy bells are being sold at shops selling puja items outside the temple. (Photo by Creative Touch Imaging Ltd./NurPhoto)
