Heatwave In India
People are using the Vaitarna river water for daily chores like washing clothes and bathing, and the same water is being used to refill water tankers to provide water to the villages during the ongoing heatwave in Kasara, India, on May 1, 2024. There is no respite from heatwaves in several parts of India during the month of May. The country's Northwest, parts of the East, and the southern peninsular region are expected to witness twice as many heatwave days as normally experienced, according to the Indian Meteorological Department.
