Indonesia's 2024 Hajj Quota Increases By 20,000

A number of prospective Hajj pilgrims are exchanging their rupiah for riyals with members of the Hajj and Umrah Guidance Group (KBIHU), Al Mukarromah, in preparation for their departure to Mecca on May 20, in Medan City, North Sumatra, Indonesia, on Sunday, May 12, 2024. The Ministry of Religion, through the Directorate General of Hajj and Umrah (PHU), has announced the list of names of prospective regular Hajj pilgrims included in the 1445 Hijri 2024 Hajj quota allocation. Indonesia has received a total Hajj quota of 241,000 pilgrims, an increase of 20,000 from the previous year. Meanwhile, according to data from the Regional Office of the North Sumatra Ministry of Religion, the regular Hajj quota for 2024 for the people of North Sumatra is set to reach 8,624 people.
