Oriental Magpie-robin (Copsychus Saularis) - Animal India

A wild Oriental magpie-robin (Copsychus saularis) bathes in water that has accumulated on a roof due to a sudden downpour. The bird is joyfully splashing water with its wings on a hot noon. Known in India as 'dhyal' or 'dhayal', the Oriental magpie-robin is a small passerine bird that belongs to the Old World flycatcher family. It is found in the Indian subcontinent and parts of Southeast Asia. These birds have a good repertoire of melodious calls and are known for their ability to imitate other bird calls. This photo was taken in Tehatta, West Bengal, India, on May 20, 2024. (Photo by Soumyabrata Roy/NurPhoto)
